The Arizona Restaurant Association Education Foundation hosted its 6th annual AZ ProStart Invitational on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Scottsdale Community College. With six high schools competing against each other in Culinary Arts as well as six teams competing in Hospitality/Management. The winning teams went on to represent Arizona at the National ProStart Invitational that was held in Washington, D.C. from May 8-11, 2019.
Taking 1st place in Culinary Arts was Blue Ridge High School out of Lakeside/Pinetop and lead by educator Kay Shores. 1st place in Hospitality/Management for the second year in a row went to Apollo High School out of Glendale and led by educator Kristy Clarke.
