What Restaurants Should Expect
Immigration Enforcement Activity: What Does it Mean for Restaurants?
Over the past several months there has been numerous headline stories about increased immigration enforcement actions, including raids on workplaces. While the vast majority of these have been in other states that lack the same employment verification laws that Arizona has, the possibility of increased actions in restaurants is present and has occurred in a handful of restaurants and most recently yesterday.
What Should Operators Do?
Employers should conduct internal audits of I-9s and employment verification documents and establish clear protocols for responding to enforcement actions.
